Work Experience

Security Engineer at Snap Inc.
January 2021 - Present
I work on infrastructure security, empowering and enabling Snap employees to securely access corporate cloud resources and web applications with minimal friction. I’m currently focusing on our zero-trust network proxy which is based on Google’s BeyondCorp implementation.
Senior Software Developer at Hulu, LLC
March 2018 - January 2021

I helped build our Container-as-a-Service load testing platform from the ground up. The platform runs on AWS EC2 Spot instance, and is able to launch upwards of up to ten million containers in as little as thirty minutes. Running on AWS EC2 spot allows us to bid for compute at a heavily discounted rate, making it ideal for this type of infrequent workload requiring large amounts of compute resources. Check out our talk at AWS re:Invent for more info.

I also helped build out our service mesh platform at Hulu. We created our own API Gateway solution based on envoyproxy for services publicly exposed to the internet, and leveraged Istio on Kubernetes for internal service-to-service communication. Lastly we defined a declarative YAML interface for homogenously configuring traffic rules at the edge and within the mesh.

Software Developer at Microsoft
September 2012 - August 2014

I developed a web reporting dashboard to surface Windows test execution data and high impacting bugs on a week-to-week cadence. The frontend was built with HTML, Javascript, and jQuery datatables. The backend was built with C# and ASP.NET MVC framework, and communicated with a Microsoft SQL Server database.

I also worked on migrating an existing vendor invoicing web application to Azure Cloud.
